Located in the picturesque Nyhavn, Guldmagerens Hus presents an inviting spot amidst the hustle of Copenhagen's harbourside. The restaurant delivers a commendable selection of traditional Danish smørrebrød, known for their intricate toppings and vibrant flavors, which Jeremy Holifield describes as “fine for the reasonable price.” While it may not be the pinnacle of smørrebrød in the city, it offers a delightful value in a location often marked by high prices.
Patrons appreciate the cozy atmosphere enhanced by a gas fire, although some have mentioned the tables and seating arrangements can feel quite cramped. This intimate setting invites guests to unwind while indulging in their meals, making it ideal for relaxed gatherings.
Guldmagerens Hus embodies the charm of Danish dining, balancing affordability with a rich culinary experience. While Jeremy's feedback highlights some minor drawbacks, like space constraints, it’s clear this establishment brings warmth and a taste of Danish tradition to visitors looking for authenticity without breaking the bank. For those exploring Copenhagen, it promises both a meal and a memorable experience by the harbour.

Reviews for Guldmagerens Hus
Review highlights
Based on 179 reviewsGuldmagerens Hus, located in Nyhavn, is frequently appreciated for offering good value amidst the typically expensive harbourside dining options. Guests often note the cozy atmosphere, particularly when the heating is active, although some mention that seating can feel quite cramped. While the smørrebrød may not stand out as the best in Copenhagen, it is generally considered satisfactory given the reasonable pricing. The restaurant tends to attract visitors looking for a pleasant and affordable experience in a popular area, with quieter times preferred due to the limited space between tables.
Best value that we could find on a quite pricey harbourside street. Not the best smorrebrod I've had in CPH but fine for the reasonable price. Nice and cosy before the gas fire ran out. Glad it was quiet as the tables and seats were ridiculously squeezed in.
